To Our Faithful Supporters and Prayer Partners,
God is working in the city of George, South Africa! We are excited to share with you what He has been doing in the past couple of months.
At the end of June, our ministry team in George hosted a basketball clinic for children and teens. We were blessed to have Ashley Forker here from one of our supporting churches to assist in leading the clinic with three other college-age students from the States. The Lord gave us opportunity to share Christ each day with 40 children and teens, and then finish the week with an opportunity to share Christ with many of their parents. A few weeks later, our ministry partners, Rod and Tina Poplin, had a group here from their home church to lead a Children’s Bible Club. Five of the children who attended the basketball clinic trusted Christ as Savior at the Bible Club, along with nine other children! We also had the privilege of seeing two men trust Christ that same week during a Saturday men’s conference. Please pray for the ongoing ministry of discipling these children and men, and also pray that we would see their families come to Christ and become part of our church-in-formation.
We had the opportunity to have a group from our home church visit at the beginning of July. They led two children’s Bible Clubs, one in Knysna, and one in Sedgefield. We were able to share Christ with about 60 children between both clubs, and assist the Lagoonside Baptist Church in Knysna and the Lakeside Baptist Church in Sedgefield by reaching into the families of their communities. Please pray for seed planted and doors opened from these two Bible clubs.
We are also thankful for several new young believers joining the Life Fellowship church-in-formation on Sundays. We just started a study of Acts this past week. We are praying that the Lord will use this study to help this group grow together into a vibrant church family. This is a central focus of our ministry here, so please pray for this along with us!
Finally, I’ll just mention that the Lord is unexpectedly opening doors for the purchase of property to help us with our three primary ministry initiatives of church planting, theological training, and gospel outreach. I am planning to share more about this very soon once some final details come together. Keep your eyes open for another update in the coming days with more news about this exciting opportunity. Pray as we seek to raise funds to help us in the purchase of this ministry property.
Please be reminded and encouraged that you are “fellow workers for the truth” (3 John 8) through your faithful prayers and support. You are an integral part of what God is doing in George, South Africa, and we are genuinely thankful for each one of you!
We would love to hear from you
For the Sake of His Name,
Troy and Danielle
